Sale of Moray Service Stations - Press Release

March, 2021

End of an era for landmark Buccaneer Service Station and New Elgin site as both sites are sold bringing to an end an ownership which spanned approximately 60 years.

As of the 4 March 2021, the iconic Buccaneer Service Station and its sister service station in New Elgin were sold to Buccaneer Fuels Limited.  After viewing the businesses in the latter part of last year Buccaneer Fuels conducted its due diligence and progressed with the purchase.

The Sellers are very pleased with the completion of the transaction, it will be a big change for them and a significant period of ownership, but they wish the new owners every success for the future and thank CCL for their negotiations.

“We are delighted with this acquisition and are very much looking forward to taking the businesses forward and welcoming old and new customers alike” says Buccaneer Fuels Limited. “We also appreciate the work of CCL throughout this process and look forward to moving forward with both sites.”

CCL Property have been delighted to work with both seller and buyer throughout this negotiation and sale.  David Pickering, Director at CCL, who led on the transaction said “I am delighted for both seller and buyer that this transaction has successfully completed and wish both parties every success for the future”.  The property market is bucking the trend of lockdown and is very buoyant, both commercially and residentially.  There is significant demand for all kinds of businesses and in particular for rural properties both for homes and for tourism businesses such as holiday lets and self-catering.  We are predicting quite a bounce when allowed to come out of lockdown, once a pathway easing restrictions is announced for Scotland.
