Golfers are often drawn to Nairn which benefits from two championship links courses at the Nairn golf club and Nairn Dunbar, whilst a further 30 courses can be played within a 60 mile radius. Nairn also enjoys an active harbour which was originally designed by Thomas Telford in the 18th century. Once bustling with fishing boats the harbour now caters primarily for leisure craft and there is an active sailing club based there. Further along the coast is Culbin Forest which has an intriguing history and provides pleasant walks and a nature reserve. Throughout the year Nairn hosts a number of events for both locals and visitors including the Nairn book and arts show, Nairn farmer’s show and an excellent highland games.
