Built around 1830 by Moray Estates, Pittendreich Mill is a property of historical interest. Originally a meal, flour and barley mill, water from the Black Burn turned the mill wheel which in turn operated the mill-stone. The mill lade was closed off in the early 1900’s when the power source converted to oil and later to electricity and it continued to operate as a working mill until 1972.
